Blue misty poetry

This interior decor project takes "The Love of Azure" as the theme, which is inspired by the sentences in Goethe's "The Theory of Colors" — "As the upper sky and distant mountains appear blue, so a blue surface seems to retire from us. But as we readily follow an agreeable object that flies from us, so we love to contemplate blue, not because it advances to us, but because it draws us after it." Steeped in a sense of understated luxury, this modern urban dwelling uses an open-plan layout to bring out a vibe of urban chic. Its aesthetic design, especially its texture and colorway, reflects the harmony between human beings and nature by following the concept of "learning from nature".

By creating virtual breaks in the ceiling design, the living-dining room combo as a core area in a home has been rationally zoned, while maintaining a flow that unifies the whole space. This layout provides a more spacious view, completely dispelling the oppressive or cramped feeling incurred by walls or partitions. Another benefit of the open-plan design is that it is easier to bring family members together even when pursuing separate activities. And the increased family time can boost daily communication, whereby to strengthen family relationships.

The living-dining room combo is sociable, whereas the bedroom design is all about privacy and individuality. Tailored to the occupants of different ages and varying in personalities and aesthetic preferences, every bedroom goes beyond the occupants' basic needs of sleep and dressing, and better relaxes them in a cosy atmosphere, be it tranquil or romantic.

Another ingenious design of this project lies in using the floor-to-ceiling window as a wall of each room. Not only does the window help bring in more natural light into the interior space, but it also frames a view the way a camera's lens frames a landscape, effortlessly fusing the interior decor (including the nature-inspired elements, coverings, and stone textures) with the nature outside. That, complemented by some pops of blue, makes the home a tasteful and cosy spiritual habitat for occupants to settle down.
