The development of Taiwanese tea has a history of two hundred years and is one of the beloved traditional beverages among the Taiwanese people. We have discovered that in response to the development of the trend of tea beverage consumption, tea itself has the potential to be a recyclable green material. When we enjoy the delightful flavors of tea beverages, the large amount of tea dregs left after brewing is actually a waste to discard directly. Although tea dregs can naturally degrade, and there is no significant problem in disposing of them directly, through observation and scientific literature research, we have found that tea residue contains insoluble substances and has the ability to remove odors. We hope to reuse the tea dregs that were originally waste, increase their value, and enable tea to be recycled throughout its life. By incorporating tea residue into paper pulp and going through processes such as dehydration, sun drying, molding, and stringing, we create new eco-friendly tea packaging materials, which can be used for repackaging and selling the products after use. We hope that this project can shape an example of a green and sustainable circular economy.
