The space has the advantage of big-sized french windows that introduce a great amount of natural lighting, while the downside of its building is that it is too long and narrow with only two sides of windows. The original arrangement breaks the space into fragments, making the flow too circuitous. Thus, by taking it all down and redesigning it, the private and public space has a clearer layout and smoother flow. This fixes the problem of the space being too long and narrow with only two-sided lighting, of the fragmentary compartments with bad lighting, insufficient fresh air, and circuitous flow. Taking advantage of its tall ceiling, bold use of lines expands the space visually.



Due to the owner’s job in the financial sector, the design is bold yet careful in details, symbolizing quick and precise decisions under high pressure. The sofa’s back wall represents thoughts expanding upwards, contouring the space with wild ideas yet backed by absolute logic. With bold design and use of geometric elements applied to the fullest in the public area, different layers of lines and colors are combined together to form an outstanding spatial aesthetic.



With electronic devices, one can control lights, brightness, and color temperature with a smart lighting system, adjusting it to fit different situations. Also, the little extra space beside the dining room is designed into a storage room with a hidden embedded door.



After removing old partitions and rearranging the space, it becomes more spacious. Ventilation and lighting are improved. With the smart lighting system, residents can get to control the whole space better, reducing possible waste on spatial use and energy.
