Pure Shine Immersion

The spring sunshine emitted a warm glow in the elegant ivory space. Balmy timber, pure white steel, and transparent glass interacted among the beveled surfaces, curved patterns, and straight linear features, presenting multiple appealing layers via various elements. As a result, the spacious public area brimmed with abundant expressions. With the dusk coming, the family-loving laughter arose by the window seat rendering a great joy of life in the residence of purity.



We adopt white as the base tone to achieve the homeowner couple's ideal of purity and clearness. Then, exploit Diatomaceous earth wall coating, steel elements, and furniture to reveal a consistent palette via diverse textures. Besides, it was unrestrained for the residents to look after each other by knocking down the partition wall in the public area. Moreover, the beveled surface and the light wood paneled beam above the study and dining room linked various areas and released the heaviness. Due to the low position under the beams, we installed linear lighting that provided excellent illumination and created an open, spacious residence.



We took the residents’ health into primary consideration, so the material choice seriously mattered. First, we applied F1 certificated low formaldehyde materials to the entire space. Secondly, finished the TV wall with a Diatomaceous earth wall coating, which features porosity and absorptive capacity to prevent the wall from moisture and dust mites. These measures could relieve the daughter’s respiratory allergies and the Korean male homeowner's sensitivity to the climate of Taiwan. And associated with energy recovery ventilation, we presented a comfortable living environment.



Because of the homeowners' work, they frequently travel from Taiwan to Korea. Therefore, we built a storage room amid the entryway and the dining room; the storage room can help to organize big-sized articles, such as suitcases, packages, and working appliances. The curved paneling eliminated the heaviness and featured at the entrance. Besides, The sliding door adjacent to the dining room facilitates the homeowner to pick up utensils while working. It is a handy design functionally and aesthetically.
