The Greatest Generation

This interior design project involves creating a permanent residence for the owner, who has been living abroad but intends to settle in his home country for an extended period. The global pandemic has made working from home a routine, and socializing with family and friends often occurs at home. Therefore, the shared living spaces in the residence must be versatile enough to serve as an office, accommodate daily activities, and host formal gatherings to cater to the owner's diverse requirements.



Upon entering the space, one will notice that the entrance hall is a standout feature that was designed with the owner's feng shui principles and preferences in mind. The designer skillfully incorporated natural elements into the hall, using raw stone with processed water ripple textures and ambient lighting to evoke a Zen-like feeling of trickling water. In the public area, the designer utilized a grayscale color scheme and strategic white space to allow ample natural light from the three sides with excellent lighting. The main visual area is adorned with dark gray stone, complemented with matte metal and wood materials to create an elegant ambiance. The TV and study wall is adorned with glossy marble textures with geometric dividing lines to provide a sense of layering. Moving to the private area, the bedroom is decorated with earthy colors and grayscale to create a calm and comfortable sleeping atmosphere for the residents.



This stunning residence is a perfect blend of functionality and aesthetics. The design team paid meticulous attention to detail and quality, with a focus on both visual appeal and practicality. The owner's daily use of the space and environmental concerns were also taken into account during the design phase. The open layout of the living room, dining room, study, mini-bar, and kitchen creates a spacious and bright activity area with plenty of natural light to reduce the need for artificial lighting and promote energy conservation. Additionally, the residence features a full heat exchanger and dehumidification system that automatically detects humidity levels, providing residents with a comfortable experience of constant temperature and humidity.
