HotelGrand Hyatt Shenzhou Peninsula

Located in the Shenzhou Peninsula Resort in the east of Hainan, the hotel embraces a 13 km coastline and is adjacent to the Shenzhou Peninsula Lighthouse, a landmark of Wanning. The project building was completed 10 years ago. The landscape design is challenging, as it needs to integrate both the existing architectural style and elements of modern coastal resort style. The site was formerly a small fishing village. In design, we focus on the architecture and take "coastal village" as the design concept to retain the memory of the site, and bring a plain, quiet vacation experience.

Incorporating the rustic texture of the island vacation, the project takes red, beige, turquoise, and dull gray as the overall tone. It selects natural, plain materials and tropical characteristic plants, makes extensive use of natural surface Hainan black granite, eco-bricks, deep coffee color bamboo, slates, and natural surface volcanic rocks.

In terms of plants, the project uses a large number of Wild date palm, Hainan coconut, Traveler's tree, Frangipani, Strelitzia reginae Banks, Royal poinciana, and Silver margined Century Plant Leaf , which are tree species with tropical style and local habits, to create a vacation atmosphere.

In terms of environmental protection, the parking lot is designed with a solar shed, which can provide power for new energy vehicles and lighting and daily electricity for the parking lot.

Meanwhile, it sets up a self-purification system for the landscape water to keep water clean and reduce water replenishment.

Since the project covers a large area, it was built by three construction companies at the same time, which however followed inconsistent technical standards. As a result, the designer toured the site a lot in the late stage, and worked with the section heads of the construction companies to count out the number of connecting places and optimized the practice according to the pavement and structural cohesion principles. They carried out the proofing construction, confirmed that the sample was correct, and then advanced the overall construction, to ensure the unified effect of the whole project.
