About The Entry

“Architecture is life, or at least it is architecture itself taking form.”- Frank Llyod Wright, the master architect.

In modern urban civilization, architecture plays a role as a city’s identity featuring local characteristics to the residents and visitors. The project stands out from the lively nature and harmonizes with the landscape unobtrusively. The construction site locates aside from the outlet of the Tamsui River system, backing onto luxuriant Guanyin Mountain in Bali District, New Taipei City. As a landmark between the urban and nature, the scenic project incorporates the beauty of the river, sea, and mountains. Additionally, it reveals a recreational interest and a fascinating cultural landscape surrounded by a gorgeous view. Eventually, we can implement the design concept of “light structure planning” onto the waterfront residence building.

Committing to our design concept as “The Waterfront City • An Environmental Integration,” the facade features images of the lineation patterns that cohere with the azure sky, crystal clear water, white clouds, and silver splash. Through the site leveling simulation in advance, we successfully retain the mountain skyline in the back of the building. Then, a setback plan facing the riverside narrows the dimension of the building; meanwhile, we preserve an adequate distance from neighboring buildings. It is fabulous that the splendid scenery surrounds that entire project.

Inspired by the local prosperous yacht marina, it features sailing imagery that the curvy front of the building takes advantage of a boat bow shape, as the beveled side is comparable to a boat rear. Besides, the wavy balconies create a splashing pattern with the diverse widths and heights of walls by light reflecting. Let our sight zoom in. The unique eave on the 1st floor adopts a distinctive round-hole design that implies a porthole on the cruise ship. Excellently, the architectural language demonstrates distinguishing local features.
