De Other Side

"When we become accustomed in our tradition to focusing only on a particular manifestation of the phenomenon, it begins to sink in." Kandinsky wrote this in his book ‘Point and Line to Plane’, and this quote set a pattern of thought for my project.

During the time I was quarantined due to Covid-19, I often thought about how to escape the room that I had been living in for so long. The bacteria thus became an imaginary subject, and as it became my perspective, the space began to be able to leave some visual traces due to interactions such as human footprints or communication. At the same time, by exploring the dual nature of the single form of bacteria, I initiate a kind of scrutiny and rebellion against the normalized perception.

When I see the bacteria in the room generated because of me through the projection, maybe they are also in the room watching me for a long time, waiting to be discovered. In other words, I think my consciousness has entered the other realm.
