Since 2013, the Taoyuan Land Art Festival has redefined art engagement, seamlessly blending landscapes and public interaction. Aligned with the 2023 World Hakka Expo, it embodies "Taoyuan Liā Liā" (a Hakka term meaning leisurely gathering, socializing, and enjoying oneself). And designating Longtan, where the Hakka population is most concentrated, and Qingpu, the venue for the World Hakka Expo, as the two main activity hubs., inviting global travelers and locals alike to immerse themselves in Taoyuan's narrative.

At its core, the festival weaves local contributions with global interactions, utilizing Hakka culture as a bridge to connect diverse communities, harmonizing technology with heritage, and unifying international and local dimensions. The primary exhibit extends from Longtan's history-rich Great Pond to the dynamic sports park, encapsulating centuries of evolution. This edition unites Hakka heritage, history, environment, and lifestyle, displayed through multidimensional art, public engagement, exhibitions, cultural assets, tours, and performances - a revival of old-town charm embracing diversity.

By embedding art into daily life, the festival seeks to establish collective historical consciousness, foster social bonds, and confer cultural significance. Its essence lies in "participation" and "interaction," bridging "local Hakka" and "shared resonance." This design nurtures inclusive creative spaces, enriching connections between attendees and art.

A locally named art festival is not just a platform for artists but a vessel of local memory. The enduring "Art Co-creation" initiative deepens the link between artworks and Taoyuan, artistically intertwining visions with local life. Guided by artists, art seamlessly integrates into daily existence, inspiring participants to unleash imagination, and transforming collaborative creation into an evocative art practice.
