'Melting away' explores the theme of melting snow, inspired by memories of Yichen's hometown. Having grown up in the northeast of China, the presence of snow has evolved into a poignant symbol representing shifts in mood and atmosphere. Within the concept of melting lies optimism and hope, as the whiteness unveils the vibrant hues of nature. Shedding away heavy layers of winter clothing and taking a long breathe is a liberating ritual. This collection captures the poetics and sensitivity inherent in the perpetual cycle of natural transition and its profound effects on our emotional being.

Through the layering of sheer fabrics and colors, Yichen captures the essence of snow's emptiness and ethereality, accentuated by the interplay of light. The fluidity of melting is expressed through the clasping of structures and dynamic style lines. The artful contours of these garments emerge organically through the meticulous techniques of draping and seaming.
