Starry Night for Magnitude

Magnitude is known for original design, quality and comfort. In addition to these qualities, they also attach great importance to craftsmanship. It is precisely that approach that inspired me during my visit to their studios.
Specifically their knowledge and possibilities in the field of upholstery and stitching really appealed to me. I was surprised by the professionalism and machinery on the one hand and the craft and love with which the beds are made on the other. This has allowed me to delve deeper into the techniques and skills that go hand in hand at Magnitude.

In my design I therefore sought to translate this craft into an archetype image from the past, an antique French cast-iron bed. By 'projecting' it onto a tightly upholstered foot and headboard using stitching seams, two worlds merge; craftsmanship is given a new look. Subtly evoking the 'time of the past' but with contemporary comfort.
The right choice of fabric and filling creates beautiful lines through shadow formation in collaboration with the stitching seam. Of course, by playing with fabrics and color, the contrast can be made greater or smaller for the benefit of the customer.
Starry Night owes its name to the fact that it makes you think back and dream about the 'good old days' with many nice memories. It puts you in the mood to admire the stars in their pure form in your attic room, looking through the skylight.
