CSCEC-Sales Office of College Quarter·Jinan

This case relates to the interior design of the sales office of China State Construction ·Daxueli. The project is located in Jinan, China, adjacent to the Shandong First Medical University, a medical institution of higher learning. The intense academic atmosphere contributes to unique neoclassical buildings in this area. In the early stage of design, the designer intentionally built a living experience hall with humanistic and living atmosphere in place of the part of space that is perceived commercial sale, provided that the interior architectural style is retained. Stepping in, you will see a church-like high dome inspired from Western architecture, which is perceived classical solemnity. A demo sand table of the residence is under the dome. Natural light immensely pours in through the window structure of the Western church dome design. The hidden light strips circling around the rims of the sand table and the post-modern art chandelier under the dome give an adequate lighting to the sand table area. The classicism meets the modern art in the same time and space, giving visitors a unique visual treat and ambient experience. What makes visitors interested is an immense atmosphere of books and leisure as they leave the sand table area and walk into other areas, a design inspired by the book wall in book bar and the interior layout of coffee counter in coffee house. The wide-covered book cases and books, with floor lamps, table lamps and various potted plants and decorative flowers, depict the intense humanistic life in the space, and also provide more leisure and communication space for visitors. Looking back at the case, visitors surprisingly feel as if they were entering a cozy and comfortable bookstore rather than a typical sale space. The intimate and relaxing atmosphere facilitates the communication between the sales force and visitors.
