In Yilan, Taiwan, an illuminated landscape has been set up to celebrate Valentine's Day and the reopening of the Nanfang'ao Bridge. The hope is to promote the new landmarks in the region and boost economic development in the fishing port. This year's festival focuses on a locally-recognized love story called "The Princess of Kavalan and the General Gui" as the design concept. Classic images from the story are skillfully created in different exhibition areas for visitors to enjoy while also being moved by the deep emotions of the story. It is a unique way to celebrate the holiday in the region.
Upon arriving at the entrances of the Nanfang'ao Bridge, visitors are greeted with a stunning display of theme lighting, carefully arranged in a magnificent stage-like structure. Two towering pagodas, aptly named Princess Kavalan and General Gui, are constructed with a sturdy truss structure that not only meets the lighting's aesthetic demands but also ensures the safety of the construction.
The bridge body's design is nothing short of impressive, cleverly combining an undulating wave pattern with an aquamarine light, creating a mesmerizing image of waves by day and a galaxy by night. These unique visual effects showcase the area's distinct characteristics and offer a refreshing experience that visitors will undoubtedly cherish.
The lighting arrangement is a masterpiece, with the creative use of light strings and dazzle film further adding to its charm. Overall, the Nanfang'ao Bridge and its lighting display are a testament to the team’s ingenuity, creativity, and dedication to achieving excellence.
Since the 1960s, there has been a global movement towards environmental protection. As a result, the importance of environmental protection in design has become increasingly emphasized. In the lighting design of this project, aesthetics are not the only focus, as considerations have been given to the control of lighting materials and electricity usage. The main lighting materials used are energy-saving LED lights. To further reduce waste generated by lighting materials and wires, a dazzling film has been applied, resulting in energy savings and carbon reduction.
