Shanghai Donggang·Chengfu Homestay

This project is a B&B located in Changxing Island, Shanghai, aiming to let the modern urban people escape from the hustle and bustle, enjoy the island's beautiful scenery and find where the heart is in the slow life.

This project leaves a first impression of being natural, simple, and elegant. Upon entering the hall, a warm, earthy colour scheme, complemented by understated and delicate materials combined with organic textures, creates a simple and inviting atmosphere. Meanwhile, the design team has cleverly applied wood, the most natural material, to the floors, walls and furniture, with rattan and fabrics, making residents feel as if they are surrounded by nature.

The bedroom design is inspired by wabi-sabi aesthetics and Mediterranean style, focusing on the unity of nature, simplicity and comfort. The colour scheme is mainly white and wood. Meanwhile, the smooth and dynamic lines create a flowing visual effect, combined with warm light, shadows, and hand-woven decorations, creating a modern and artistic space for residents to relax.

In addition, multi-functionality is one of the highlights of this project that distinguishes it from traditional B&Bs. A dining room that perfectly blends Chinese elements with Mediterranean style, a fun space for parents and children to interact, a children's activity area with an ocean theme, a terrace with artistic wall paintings, and a star observation platform to look up at the starry sky--diverse spaces with different styles and functions can fully satisfy the needs of various residents.
