The Beauty of the Orient: Grey Modern Design Studio

A 50-year-old residence is transformed into a modern minimalist design studio. The "Whitecore Style" uses white as the base to enhance the spaciousness and brightness of the experience and is embellished with greyish black. For safety reasons, the original building structure is preserved, and the partitions are removed. Then, minimal renovation makes the interiors more spacious and improves lighting and ventilation. By maintaining as much openness as possible in the layout, the project creates fluidity and circulation. Neutral colors and greenery shape a healing and stress-free office, allowing staff to work in a relaxed and comfortable environment that enhances their quality of work and concentration.

The interior embodies the Chinese Taoist concept of mediocrity through inclusive and flexible configurations and low-key colors. The silver metal blinds, white walls, and door grilles are embellished with abstract landscape paintings, interpreting the Eastern Zen look. Meanwhile, the three-dimensional arcs in some corners are the highlights. Their asymmetrical, organic curves and rhythms naturally exude softness and warmth. Unlike the typical design studio, the space planning is more user-friendly. In particular, the elegant courtyard decorated with green plants is healing and relaxing for both visitors and staff.
