GABLES TROPICAL MODERN

This opulent residence is located inside Gables Estates, one of the Greater Miami’s most private and luxurious enclaves with direct access to Biscayne Bay. The main entrance was designed by the architects to be stalish and elegant and the landscape architect enhanced their design by creating an elevated landscape entry level using Florida’s native oolite stone blocks to act as exposed retaining walls which add to the South Florida site fit. The same natural stone blocks use intent was used throughout the site, particularly in the front and rear yard to control the different grade elevations.

Water was an important element in the Owner’s design program. A vertical water wall was placed by the main entry and a large reflective pool was positioned to be admired from the foyer and the living areas of the residence. The swimming pool, pool deck, open terrace and steps to dock all integrate ad was designed by the landscape architect following parallel lines of those that define the residence walls and the different line that shapes the sea wall at the rear property line. The composition of hardscape and landscape creates clean looking sharp lines filled with green which provide a bonding with the architecture.

The Owners wanted an easy maintenance tropical feeling for the outdoors. The landscape architect provided a carefully selected palette and in some measure organized planting plan using water saving species, different textures of green and native species.
