About The Entry

Relocation and remodeling project for a Japanese restaurant.

In terms of materials, we used all the solid wood (wenge) that the client had purchased directly when he started the restaurant before the relocation and rebuilt it.

All the leftover wood was used for the design wall, handles, etc., giving the restaurant a new look.

We thought this could be in line with the owner's cooking philosophy, which is not to add ingredients, but to bring out the full potential of the ingredients.

In the layout, the kitchen is considered as the client's stage, and we focused on the seating arrangement around the cooking area to create a sense of depth in the space by emphasizing a sense of pulling distance, so that the narrow space with a 23m2 area and 2.3m ceiling height would not feel too small.

Wenge wood was also used for the access from the entrance to the "stage" to the interior of the store, which was designed to continue the same story.
