Concept : “The Three Little Pigs”.
The Pignic Cafe has been recently opened in Yokohama, following the first store Pignic Cafe in Yoyogi Park. Pignic Cafe is a place where people can interact with miniature pigs.
This time the design idea was based on Japanese most famous fairy tale about pigs, titled “ The Three Little Pigs”. The story introduces three little piglet brothers; each one of them builds a house and confronts a wolf.
The materials to build a house, mentioned in the tale, are still used today. These are straw, timber and bricks.
Therefore, by applying such finishes as straw, wood and brick the aim was to design a space that would make people immerse themselves in the world of the fairy tale.
In fact, bricks are applied from floor to the ceiling and then they change into the wood, cut in the brick size. The area from near the ceiling is a plaster finish that incorporates straw.
In addition, there are illustrations of “The Three Little Pigs” story displayed throughout the entire space.
Hopefully, new memorable meetings between people and miniature pigs will be held here.
