Due to the client’s frequent business trips to Southeast Asia and liking for flowers, the designers incorporated flower walls and bright color blocks into the design but reduced the color saturation considering suitable color usage for a living space. By applying the gold color often used in Southeast Asian cultures to the window frames and the lining in the corners between walls, the designers not only trimmed the edges successfully but also created a spatial partition effect. The designers decided on the overall style and created a layered space according to the client's lifestyle: the living room is lined with green walls and wallpaper with blooming white flowers symbolizing the client’s work: a sense of vigor fused with calmness, like a well-cared garden. The transparent glass door in the bathroom allows people to see the bright turquoise and tropical plant patterns within right away, which corresponds to hotel rooms where the client stays on business trips, like a gorgeous, exotic manor. The foundation of the bedroom is pure white walls and black glass with a touch of pastel violet flowers on the wallpaper, representing the client’s relaxing after returning home: simple yet warm like a small but cozy greenhouse. In order to build up privacy, the designers specifically placed kitchen and bathroom in the center as an intermediary space between the living room and bedroom while installing black glass doors in the bedroom. The slightly translucent material retains visual depth while also providing a concealing effect and echoes the wardrobe doors which are also made of black glass, establishing a sound experience for the bedroom. The residence is only 32 square meters, but it does not feel cramped, and aesthetics and functionality both thrive within. Moreover, through the pairing and coordination between the partition wall and the fixed furniture, the storage function is greatly improved. The floral wallpaper applied in the living room and bedroom is not only a unique custom-made print but the material is also convenient for subsequent maintenance.
