This 594 square feet apartment was built in 1991, which is located in Macau which is the most densely populated region in the world. The apartment features an earth-tone color scheme, incorporating materials such as stone, wood, and glass, along with area lighting, to create a bright and comfortable ambiance, even within a high-density residential complex.



In the limited space, the owner wants to fulfill all the functions for work, rest and relaxation. Therefore, In the middle of the living room, we place the sofa and the working desk together for circular traffic flow, in order to reduce the improper turn-offs. At the same time emphasizes interaction among family members. The design of the kitchen island allows the owner to communicate with family members while cooking, and the desk and sofa are positioned in the center of the room, enabling family members to have connections while using different functions without interfering with one another.



There is a structural beam in the center of the living room. We used carpentry to make rounded corners and installed light strips to reduce feeling of oppression from the space. In addition, the cat is also an important member of this household. We make use of the ceiling to design a pathways for the cat to satisfy its active nature.





Shift work is very common in Macau, so having separate bedrooms and dressing rooms allows family members to groom and change clothes without disturbing each other's rest. This design matches the owner's living habits and uses soft tones to allow the owner to relax appropriately in the noisy city and high-pressure work.
