2024Pingtung Festival of Lights - Civic Park Lantern Area

Every year, Pingtung exhibits a Lantern Festival. 2024 is the year of the dragon; therefore, this time, the core design is dragon-themed, and from there, it extends to Pingtung Sky City. On the grounds of Pingtung, there is a beautiful and magical city. It sits on top of the cloud and is called the Pingtung Sky City. This city has a majestic dragon as its ruler; it protects the entire city and uses wisdom and powers to protect the safety of its residents. Pingtung will be transformed into a fantastical Sky City, inviting everyone to embark on a magical flying adventure. Let’s explore Pingtung's unique cultures, landscapes, and stories through engaging storytelling elements and lantern displays, and join us as we guide visitors through a fantastical journey, unveiling the enchanting wonders that belong to Pingtung.



Themed as The Sky City of Pingtung—

We aim to seamlessly blend Pingtung's unique charm with elements from the sky and fantastical storytelling. Crafting distinctive light and art installations, each portraying the essence of Pingtung, aspires to create a sensation akin to the vastness of the sky and encompass endless possibilities. This endeavor seeks to transform the festival grounds into a sensory feast, providing a truly unique experience for everyone during the Year of the Dragon Lantern Festival.



The main lantern is 15 meters in height and 192 meters in length. It is the longest front seat dragon lantern in Taiwan.
