Zijin Hexu

The project is located at the south-eastern foot of the Zijinshan Mountain Scenic Spot in Xuanwu District, Nanjing, China, close to the Mingxiao Mausoleum, Zhongshan Mausoleum and other scenic spots, with easy access to a full range of ancillary services. The project is surrounded by the old city centre, so the design needs to create a superior residential community, and enhance the urban interface and close any visual gaps in the city. The new 'integrated settlement chassis' concept, which emphasises giving people a richer living environment, serves as the foundation for the entire design. The project is unusually and creatively outfitted with an underground library clubhouse, which includes a city lounge, gym, tea room, and children's play area, among other amenities, given the site's height disparity.



The entrance courtyard is presented artistically. Installation art features combine the falling mountains and the eaves of oriental traditional architecture to create an entrance courtyard. The clever design produces cascading eaves. Through deft use of frames and openwork, the design is deeply embedded in the location's memory. The amount of signs has been successfully decreased while significantly boosting the integration of the surroundings owing to the intelligently created window patterns, maintaining the historic culture with a distinct modern taste. In the material selection for the demonstration area, the colour choices include champagne gold and prada green, while the materials include a combination of 'blue diamond' stone and dark grey aluminium sheet. The aged texture makes it harmonious with the on-site environment, which is neither abrupt nor overly ostentatious, showing the heavy sense of history and the traces of ageing details. Phoenix Zijin Hexu Mansion become a model of design that carries local culture while maximising living comfort.
