Drawing inspiration from ancient Chinese precious jewelry — gold-inlaid jade pendants, the packaging for this Chinese liquor (also known as Chinese Baijiu) subtly merges the traditional aesthetics with modern design to emphasize the close connection among the world, time and humanity, interpreting traditional culture in a modern manner.
Gold-inlaid jade symbolizes wealth and noble status in Chinese culture. In this design, the concept of “gold-inlaid jade” is well embodied through the bottle’s colors and materials. The design team has ingeniously integrated the gold edgings into the deep green ceramic body, which creates a visual association with classic gold-jade combination, and exudes elegance while giving a sense of warmth. The ceramic body, adopting traditional mineral glaze and high-temperature firing process, not only features a gentle luster and touch reminiscent of gold-inlaid jade, but also allows the liquor to age further inside the bottle for an enhanced flavor. The classic shape consisting of simple, clean lines is designed according to the golden ratio, paying a tribute to traditional craftsmanship and endowing the liquor with a unique symbolic charm. Additionally, ergonomics is taken into the design of the bottle to ensure a comfortable grip for various hand sizes.
To address excessive packaging, the design prioritizes the reusability of the bottle, enabling its continued use as a vase or a home decor piece. This extends the packaging’s vitality, and promote sustainable development.
