Modeled after the picturesque villages south of the Yangtze River, this project meticulously preserves spatial arrangement, fundamental elements, architectural dimensions, and color schemes of traditional settlements. Various architectural structures embody the artistic characteristics of China's renowned fine art academies. The serene water features, devoid of any ripples, harmoniously complement the architectural forms, creating a multi-layered relationship between the buildings themselves, the lush greenery, and the sparkling river. This project not only celebrates the local culture and heritage of the villages south of the Yangtze River but also caters to the unique requirements of the artistic space, offering an "extraordinary" and "dramatic" experience through the well-balanced simulation and recreation of the villages in southern China. Consequently, this distinctive architectural complex stands as a testament to the seamless integration of past eras with the present, unfolding before us an organic, modern, artistically vibrant village.
The architects embarked on a journey to explore the possibilities of merging traditional spaces with artistic exhibition areas. With careful consideration of the requirements for artistic exhibition areas, they thoughtfully designed the waterfront promenades to create an invisible link between the open exhibition areas of fine art academies and the water features. Seamlessly blending the interior with the outdoor landscape, visitors can experience a captivating interplay of illusion and reality, the interplay of concentrated and discrete spaces, and a constantly shifting effect of light and shadow as they navigate the surroundings. Alleys, courtyards, and other spatial configurations have been imbued with new functionalities and values, all the while capturing the flavor essence of the winding and well-distributed classical villages south of the Yangtze River.
As a world-famous porcelain capital, Jingdezhen City is a key vehicle of China's porcelain art. The establishment of the Creation Join Base of Famous Art Academies in China plays a pivotal role in fostering innovation and preserving the local porcelain culture. This project safeguards and disseminates valuable cultural heritage while promoting art education.
