IKON, Kingspan’s brand new Global Innovation Center, is a truly spectacular experience. Both a place of research and a living research project, IKON is an innovative space that transports people into Kingspan’s view of the building of tomorrow.

Kingspan is an Irish building materials company, with 129 manufacturing sites in over 70 countries around the world. IKON, located next to Kingspan’s group headquarters in Ireland, is the test and development center for the next generation of Kingspan products, solutions and services. This central hub facility, which officially opened in August 2019 is technologically linked to Kingspan’s various manufacturing units worldwide. IKON is at the center of Kingspan’s Innovative approach to the various markets it operates in. Its focus is to gather significant scientific resources with the goal of improving building performance and construction methods.

The IKON building houses 48 desk spaces and can accommodate up to 75 visitors in its meeting rooms, conference room and Future Space meeting/events area.

IKON has been built to the highest standards of sustainable design and is a showcase for Kingspan products and systems. Containing state-of-the-art laboratory and research facilities, it is crowned by the Future Space meeting/events area, which features cutting-edge technology and stunning views of the surrounding countryside.

The interior design concept for IKON combines technology, engineering, material science, creativity and imagination, with extensive use of shapes, dynamic lines and sharp contrasts.

During the concept design phase of the IKON building, the MILLIMETRE DESIGN team spent considerable time absorbing the latest in systems technology. They attended many technology exhibitions, including ISE (Integrated Systems Europe) in Amsterdam and AVR 360 & VR World in London. The design team immersed themselves in what technology could bring to the design and the result was exceptional.

The building has many bespoke finishes including the joinery, which perfectly blends with the overall building design. Particular attention was paid to the materials used throughout, while the white palette visually enhances unexpected angles, affording a futuristic, minimalist character to this building’s interiors.
