This project showcases the unique personality of the homeowner, a young automotive sales manager with discerning tastes. We considered the significance of popular blacked-out kits and mood lighting in today’s automotive industry, seamlessly integrating these elements into the interior design. Recognizing the homeowner’s disinterest in white materials, we completely avoided their use, instead opting for materials in black and gray tones to achieve a multi-layered spatial effect. When selecting materials, we deliberately chose rough-textured options such as leather-faced stone, matte cement, and metallic-finished thin brick to underscore the space’s individuality and character.
Moreover, we utilized linear lighting fixtures as primary illumination and decorative elements to evoke a similar ambiance to automotive mood lighting. Given the constraints of limited space, we employed semi-translucent techniques to delineate areas and strategically placed linear lighting fixtures to establish visual continuity, thereby enhancing the overall comfort and perception of the space.
