Inspired by the ancient Eastern concept of the Four Symbols—Azure Dragon, Vermilion Bird, White Tiger, and Black Tortoise—we artfully take the majestic Vermilion Bird as the central theme of this project. Nestled at the crossroads of Taiwan Contemporary Culture Lab, the Eastern Shopping District, and the historical government buildings from the Japanese colonial era, it harmoniously complements the nearby Dragon Building, representing Azure Dragon. The design draws from traditional Chinese architecture, which features angled cornices and layered lines, shaping the appearance of a Phoenix Spreading its Wings in Flight. These elements symbolize the auspicious imagery of the Phoenix and Dragon flying together, fostering a profound cultural resonance and establishing it as a unique aesthetic landmark in the urban landscape. Residents can anticipate a lifestyle of refined quality in this conveniently located, culturally rich hub, savoring the essence of life and experiencing the true meaning of existence.
In resonance with the concept of ‘the Phoenix soaring high,’ the exterior is centered on the design motif of countless delicate feathers. The design utilizes a timber lattice, pure white panels, and three sets of lines with varying thickness and density, creating a rich layering effect. When viewed from the ground, one can observe the rhythmic movement of the wing-like beams. The edges blend curves with traditional Chinese elements of angled cornices, evoking the rustic charm of traditional eaves. Beneath the eaves, playful variations in light and shadow emerge as the sunlight shifts throughout the day. Gradually looking upwards, the upturned cornices present a sense of lightness and fluttering, resembling the leisurely flight of the Vermilion Bird across the sky.
