We create original, innovative designs using our digital software, called mov.i.see. The software responds to body movement to reconstruct digital data (photos, videos), and reveals organic details not possible solely by programming. Asymmetrical and non-repeat, our patterns are very different from those created using traditional methods, such as mirroring or rotating. We finish our patterns by hand, manipulating colour and form, and digitally print them onto natural fabrics. Digital printing reproduces the fine details of our original designs and retains their movement and colour combinations.

Our 2024 ‘Majestic’ wool scarf collection comprises ten patterns. In the aftermath of the global pandemic, we felt compelled to create a new series of confident, colourful patterns. The challenge was to create forward-looking patterns that are optimistic, joyful and celebratory yet stylish and elegant. We sought inspiration from the natural world around us, not only in the countryside and on the coast but also in the city where we live and create. We began by thoroughly researching ideas and colourways, collecting visual data and experimenting with form, colour and pattern.

After selecting the digital data, we used layered design to bridge the gap between the human and the abstract. The patterns are informed by the miracle of eternal dawn and dusk, the changing seasons, the majesty of the sea, countryside and mountains, and the city as a place of rebirth and renewal. Through iteration, we dramatically modified the patterns as they were being created, rather than allowing the software to wholly dictate the design and to ensure that they reveal the authorship of the designer.

The asymmetrical patterns and colour combinations enable the scarves to be worn in different ways. Our patterns are printed with ink free of heavy metals which penetrates the combed wool so that each pattern is double-sided. The wool is specially treated so that it is comfortable and non-abrasive. Gender neutral, our scarves make a bold artistic fashion statement.
