Swan Lake, originally named Piliao Pond, derives its new name from the local belief that the area encompassing Piliaopi, Xinying City, Prince Temple, and Iron Wire Bridge is considered a "swan den" in terms of "feng shui." Piliaopi is situated precisely at the position of the "swan's eye," hence the new name "Swan Lake."

In traditional "feng shui" concepts, it refers to the invisible movement, diffusion, and convergence of qi and water in the environment. The interaction between wind and water, much like the flow of "waves," is significant.

From a scientific perspective, any behavior involving "waves" (light waves, sound waves, water waves, electromagnetic waves) can lead to diffraction phenomena. In optics, diffraction is a type of interference caused by wave motion. This process makes people aware of the encounters, overlaps, fractures, and reconstructions between different waves.

From the natural movement of water waves on the lake surface to the shimmering light waves on the lake, light represents the play of shadows, sensitivity to light, or photosensitivity, as well as the festival of lights born from people's use of light. Similar to the principles of photography, where light passes through the aperture of the lens and its association with the principle of diffraction, light is then imaged, displayed, or portrayed in full detail as if on the scene.

The ripples of water waves on the lake surface spread out in circles, seemingly interfering with each other yet coexisting. This coexisting ripple is like the intimate and interconnected bio-sphere, where each entity leans on and influences one another. Applying the methodology of diffraction to the occurrences in the world, through the interplay of waves, light, and circles, we become more conscious of the possibilities of interdependence in our lives in this world.
