Situated in the post industry area at city center with the surroundings already transferred to typical metropolitan city, and there is need to revisit how to preserve the existing city context by bringing in vibrant ambience under the existing buildings’ condition. The cross movements of traffic and pedestrian flow and lack of the focal point, city realm brought the urgency of revival, which is much needed to bring in pedestrian flow and create public realm.
To enhance the humanity in the fast-growing metropolitan city of Shenzhen, it is aim to combine social, culture and commercial with more human touch, in the name of creating city living room.
By rearranging the traffic routes and allowing more penetrated pedestrian flows, this area would be reformed to a more pedestrian friendly and vibrate destination for multi activities, such as office, retail, F&B, performance, entertainment, tech showroom.etc.
The ambitions are offering ‘home’ themes to this reforming area with the aims of implanting new functions and programs. The “home” themes could be ‘living rooms’ in the form of sky deck accommodating the performances, ‘kitchens’ in the form of F&B accommodating the appetize sharing, ‘gallery ‘in the form of retail accommodating the arts.etc. The design purpose is to bring in humanity touch in the ever-changing metropolitan city of Shenzhen.
