Menstruation is a typical life experience for menstruators who make up half of the human population. However, for many menstruators, menstruation can be accompanied by a range of discomforts, such as primary dysmenorrhea (menstrual cramps). These discomforts can be quite challenging to deal with and can significantly impact a person's daily life and productivity. According to a 2020 study conducted at the Xiangya School of Public Health, the prevalence of primary dysmenorrhea among Chinese reproductive-age menstruators is 41.7%. To help alleviate menstrual discomfort and provide a sense of comfort during this time, we are pleased to introduce our unique throw pillow designed both functional and aesthetically pleasing for menstruators.
The innovative design of this pillow is inspired by the female physiological structure. To begin with, the main body of the pillow is in the shape of the uterus. Through the adorable smile, the furry texture, and pastel colors of the “uterus,” we hope to celebrate the beautiful nature of female physiology, as opposed to persisting stigmas that suggest otherwise. Meanwhile, the “fallopian tube” can be posed in a hugging position that embraces menstruators, providing support and comfort to the body during menstrual cramps. Through this structural design, we hope to provide physical comforts and mental support for menstruators with discomforts, and at the same time convey the message that menstruation and the related discomforts are not something to be embarrassed about but rather to be embraced. At the end of the “fallopian tube” are two “ovaries”. The ovary component is specially designed as a detachable stress ball similar to one of those used by patients to alleviate pain during stressful medical operations. We believe that a similar entity can be adopted in the scenario of menstrual cramps if menstruators decide to take their minds off the discomfort. Simultaneously, the hot water bottle pouch offers additional relief through the application of heat.
This is not only a practical physiological health product, but also respect and care for women's physiology. Through unique design and innovative features, we are committed to bringing women a full range of comfort and psychological comfort.
