Model room design for Academy One

Located in Xiaoyi City, Shanxi, this project focuses on the interior design of a 128 m2 model room. A survey indicates that many local residents prefer modern luxury style, which in turn motivated the design team to choose modern luxury as the guideline from the inception of the project, in order to craft a living space that reflects regional aesthetics and evoke elegance and sophistication. The color scheme is dominated by coffee color tones, complemented by aluminum and stainless steel products in coffee colors to enhance the space texture. The spatial layout follows a traffic route starting from the entrance, passing through the kitchen, dining room, and leading to the living room and balcony. This layout ensures clear division and visual connectivity of each functional area, creating a seamless and efficient living in a linear and intuitive way. The large marble textured luxury stone wall surfaces act as visual focal points, which not only show the rustic yet luxurious appeal of natural materials, but also reconcile with premium leathers, metal trims, and dark colored furnishings to form a cohesive modern and stylish interior. Given that the balcony side offers a sunset view, the interior design intentionally omits a balcony partition to keep an open view between the living room and master bedroom, allowing occupants to enjoy the sunset from any part of the space. The lighting plan follows a decentralized strategy which relies on large LED strips, track lights, and spotlights to ensure a balanced distribution of ambient illumination. Considering the local preference for the high illumination interior, the design team adds lighting fixtures in crucial areas of the room, like the TV back wall and niches, to fulfill the practical needs for indoor illumination and create a hierarchy of visual effects by skillfully arranging and dispersing light and shadow, ultimately enhancing the indoor spatial ambiance and visual depth.
