The project is located in Changsha CBD right beside Meixi Lake, a place with abundant commercial resources where high net worth individuals chasing for. In BAOBO Mansion, we try to explore more possibilities of contemporary wok space. The integration of personalised art and professional office recreates a brand new office model. We would like to design an office that is " an unlike office" and releasing the emotional need of the space.
In an era of scarce attention and fragmented information, these office products need to create Wow Moments for consumers. Among contemporary design styles, Memphis style, which emerged in the 80s, is very representative. The soft furnishings were designed to incorporate aspects of Memphis in the structural and design considerations. The use of shapes, columns and geometric squares shapes the overall three-dimensionality of the space and the compact atmosphere. Different shapes of the soft furnishings highlight the taste and also link up the dramatic effect of the change of sceneries.
By incorporating the 1950's invention of the Flip Screen into the office display window, the traditional technology of the Flip Screen is reborn with a new design language. The wall decoration combines not only the elements of the architecture but also the classic colors of Memphis for re-creation, creating a strong visual impact for the space. In response to the customers’ analysis, the colors of the space tend to be relatively mature in medium scale with part of bright colors.
The open office area is spacious with integrated spatial function which closely associates work and leisure space. The window lounge is shaped as card seating which provided a small brainstorming area, making the space more relaxed and efficient.
Walking into the Manager‘s office, "Little Superhero", a sculpture designed by artist Qu Guangci, will catch your sight. The color of it recalling the classic Memphis blues and reds. The office's bookshelves are decorated with motorbike racing ornaments which created a unique emotional link between the ueser and the space.
