Nettleham Community Market

This project revitalizes the century-old ruins of Nettleham House, ingeniously transforming them into a bustling community market in a predominantly agricultural area. Specializing in locally produced crops and food, this market serves both commercial and communal purposes, acting as a vibrant social hub where residents converge to buy, sell, and share food. This fosters a stronger sense of community and enhances connections among Nettleham area residents while strengthening bonds with the natural surroundings.



The design strategy involves exploring the historical traces of the ruins and repurposing them for contemporary use. Valuable references from past inhabitants inform the creation of new, lighter structures seamlessly integrated into the existing ruins.
