《Glow of the Centennial Banyan》

Preparatory Office of NTMC(National Taiwan Museum of Comics), located within the Taichung Prison's administrative buildings, is set to open at the end of 2023.



The overall light and shadow performance will revolve around an eighty-year-old banyan tree, coexisting with the Japanese-style administrative buildings. Adjacent areas will be created to present the "Tai-Comic Banyan Glow" and the "Creative Light Corridor" exhibition activities. Two main thematic stories, "Banyan and Cat" and "Water and Tree," will be presented through light and music, offering a vibrant and fantastical journey through the NTMC.



The exhibition will be centered on the "Glow of the Centennial Banyan" and "Tai-Comic Banyan Glow" areas. "Glow of the Centennial Banyan," known as "Tai-Comic Banyan Glow," will narrate the stories of "Banyan and Cat" and "Water and Tree." With delicate anime-style music created in collaboration with Golden Melody award-winning musicians, profound light artists, and comic artists, visitors will feel like protagonists in these fantastic comic tales.



The "Resident Comic Artists" will focus on the theme "Creative Light Corridor," using architectural light projections to create an activated space, jointly creating a light theater belonging to the NTMC. This symbolizes that comics are born from continuous imagination, not only serving as an exhibition of light and shadow but also as the origin of an original comic. The interdisciplinary collaborative creation also symbolizes that the Preparatory Office of NTMC is a rich and creative energy base.
