Xiamen K11 Select

Xiamen K11 Select is an innovative commercial development nestled within the Xiamen Wuyuan Bay Wetland Park TOD, a thriving urban hub that seamlessly blends with its natural surroundings. Envisioned as a 'HABITAT', this five-storey shopping mall is designed to not only serve as a retail destination but also as a sanctuary that fosters a deep connection with nature.



The project's design philosophy is rooted in biophilic principles, which aim to enhance well-being through the integration of nature into the built environment. The three buildings are ingeniously linked, creating a harmonious flow that mirrors the ecological richness of the Wuyuan Bay Wetland Park. The design team has meticulously categorized the local characteristics into four distinct: light, forest, sea, and mound.



Light is an important design element, casting a warm and inviting glow throughout the space. The ceiling features a belt that channels natural light into the interior, mimicking the trajectories of the sun, moon, and stars.



The egret migration, a natural spectacle that has become the iconic image of the space, is artistically captured on the ceiling, adding a rhythmic element to the spatial composition.



The linking bridge, spans across two sides, allowing visitors to traverse and explore the different zones in the ever-expanding healing forest. This feature also opens up new possibilities for event curation, transforming the space into a dynamic platform for community engagement and interaction.



The biophilic design approach permeates every aspect of Xiamen K11 Select, drawing inspiration from the patterns, textures, and emotional resonance of Wuyuan Bay's natural environment. The result is a space that evokes a profound sense of belonging and tranquility.
