Amidst the vast sands of human history, we draw inspiration from the source—the Tower of Babel—an ancient symbol. I delve into the evolution of individual and communal identity and their interrelation. Considering the formation of politics, interstate conflicts, and racism—from diverse personal beliefs, values, attitudes, and behaviors—yet each individual's identity remains preserved. I believe that from our DNA, we are inherently amiable, regardless of the language we speak or the color of our skin. The design of this series of accessory products incorporate cowhide combined with varying shades of dye to create a gradient effect, expressing the fusion of human skin tones from dark to light. Through pure handcrafting, leather handbags, shoulder bags, jackets, and leg bags undergo repeated fittings and adjustments to ensure comfort and fit. Additionally, mirror fabric material has been incorporated in the material selection, symbolizing how this collection reflects each viewer's diverse "skin tones," yet we are all the same, coexisting. The inspiration is derived from the double helix of the human body and spray-painted leather, presenting a gradient from deep to shallow, expressing human inclusivity. This includes the hollow double helix motif on the back and the body structure design on the arms, both reminding us of our shared humanity, irrespective of skin color or language. The double helix jacket is meticulously crafted by hand from leather, undergoing repeated fittings and adjustments to ensure comfort and fit. The leg bags in this series is crafted entirely by hand, utilizing dyed leather to present different "skin tones," and paired with mirror leather fabric to express that when the audience looks at this piece, they are also contrasting their own skin tones, yet ultimately, we are all connected. The inspiration of the tote bag which named “biased” in this series comes from the Tower of Babel, with its latticed network and asymmetrical structure. Another barrel bag’inspiration also comes from the Tower of Babel, through the grid design of mirror fabric, creating a memory of humanity's endless pursuit and glorious achievements towards the sky.
