Greenland and Forest Inside

Design description:This project aims to transform idle properties in the city center into vibrant residences, dedicated to meeting the daily comfort needs of homeowners and the families while integrating art with space to create a unique living experience. Inspired by the concept of the “Tree of Life,” the design seeks poetic exchanges between humans, nature and space, awakening the body’s perception of space and fostering interaction with art. The space design is characterized by simplicity, clean lines and elegant primary colors, reflecting Eastern aesthetic sensibilities and Zen-like qualities. The living spaces are tranquil and refined, reflecting the reserved and introspective character of the homeowners. Abundant sunlight, greenery and natural elements flood the interiors through expansive glass windows from various angles, creating a serene and harmonious atmosphere reminiscent of traditional landscape paintings, evoking a sense of belonging rooted in life’s journey and embodying the principles of ecological living. In material selection, the designer completely eschews extravagant materials, instead adhering to the principles of sustainable development by opting for alternative materials, thus redefining “inherent luxury” within contemporary design contexts, and crafting elegance and beauty that withstand the test of time. The project’s design challenge lies in the bulky load-bearing column in the ground-floor lobby. Rather than conceal it, the designer chooses to reinterpret it as a robust, growing tree trunk, employing linear extensions and morphological transformations to infuse the space with narrative and significance, thus achieving innovation and transformation in design.
