Pandora Gift Box

In the design team’s opinion, the core concept of this project is to remove all the defects of the original building and highlight the best aspects of the house. The design team is like Anesidora who opened the “Gift Box”, releasing all the evils, and then reconstruct the room through reorganization of the structure, shaping visual atmosphere, and also control the acoustic. This project is like building a utopia for the client to release all the city troubles. The design team not only try so hard to lower the ground in order to add some vertical height, set up layers, change the circulation, and integrate the interior spaces. The interior view is composed of warm white color with calming wood materials, creating a relaxing space for the client during their vacation. The building materials, the design team has selected the most moisture-proof and sustainable materials, while at the same time not forgetting the details of portrayal, whether it is the metal iron parts of vases in every corner, such as delicate design strokes of the design team. The space that stands on the overall white site, describing warm feeling through wooden elements. This residential project is like a gift-box, in which the vertical connection of the stairs portrays the poetic life in the ‘house box’. The original height of this project was only 4.5 meters so that the design team hopes to maximize the use of the difference in height, enrich the interior level, and create a small duplex building for the client. However, in order to add another interior floor level, first of all, the problem is that the original height is extremely insufficient. To solve this problem, the design team dag the underground space, smashed the road concrete, dag backfill, and reinforced it with reinforcement. The original incomplete foundation of the house was repaired, and comprehensive waterproof treatment was made. At last, it reached a height of 5.7 meters and achieved a comprehensive leak-proof design.
