Original Texture

Set off by plaster surfaces, randomly excavated outlines and time marks display their original character. Wooden and metallic decorative additions and natural light from the window expose a bit of a warm touch to the rustic interior. After viewing complex layering and excessive adornments, people quickly get aesthetic fatigue in the flood of information. Therefore, they reverse to a pure and pristine nature from the interior and their living.



Differentiating from commonly trendy hair salons, the project owner would like to embrace a grunge style that echoes the brand concept—“a relief of unique self.” As a result, the designer set the tone of a subtractive design, preserving the existing constructions as much as possible without additions. “Original Texture” absolutely exposes the natural marks left by time.



With the unique advantage of natural lighting, a broad space of 165.3 square meters that accommodates only eight stations contributes to an airy and cozy vibe rather than conventionally cramped rooms. Complying with the essence of the core idea –“a relief of body and soul,” a light and relaxing space based on the existing constructions incorporated blurred boundaries and flexible moving flows, brimming with a refreshing atmosphere.



Satisfying the project owner’s favorite grunge style, wood and stone textures with randomly excavating marks compose originally pristine installation art. Unfinished stone and sturdy wood backdropped by plaster coordinate a wide window inviting natural light, presenting various expressions of materials—such as a person’s face with distinctive charisma derived from aged marks.



In terms of space, simplicity is the best design. As a result, the designer preserved the existing constructions and adopted minimum decorations. Applied with residual wood, Eco-friendly wall finishes, and natural lighting contributes to saving resources and power consumption and representing the original spatial face. Ultimately, the project, design, and environment may share the common good of sustainable efficiency.
