Chiayi City Comprehensive Market

Located on Guohua Street in Chiayi City, The West Market, founded in 1912 during Japanese rule, has a long history as a key community hub. However, time and past issues have led to a fading image, empty stalls, and confusing signs. In 2024, the Chiayi City Government sought to renew the market. The aim was to keep the building's unique look while refreshing its image. Inspired by the sounds of traditional markets, the project aimed for a distinct brand. By simplifying the layout and going digital, a youth entrepreneurship base was created. This mix of old and new markets aims to draw younger people, boosting interaction and energy.
