A renovated home with lasting memories of the homeowner’s parents generates a brand-new living style. The designer hoped to bring a vibrant look by utilizing trendy building materials and curated the dining room as the core domain for family gatherings, metaphorically reminding the homeowner never to forget that the origin of a family is here.



Because of its narrow shape, sufficient illumination is a critical issue for the project. Therefore, the reconfigured layout implements natural light in the interior and extends further along the large degree white curved wall, elegantly bringing brightness and warmth into the space. Adopting linear lighting to shape the appealing interior and working in concert with dark wood veneers, enhancing stereoscopic vision and vivid character gives the homeowner a new living style.

This project aims to renovate the old building and introduce new functions and young vitality. It adopts white backgrounds and curved shapes with novel materials like metal, solid wood veneers, and seamless flooring. The designer abandoned conventional embellishments to resolve the defect of low beams and displayed the existing structure with minimalist coloring. The white wall and homochromatic hidden door strikingly set off dark wood textures on the columns and beams, contributing to outline a delicate appeal.

The homeowner hoped to have adequate sunlight in the interior. As a result, a well-planned layout organized originally meandering paths and implemented a spacious transitional space that smoothly accessed every corner of the home. Next, removing a partition wall of the bright master bedroom enhances abundant natural light through the glass kitchen door from both sides of the balconies. Additionally, eliminating the number of rooms to spare space for the dining room achieves a delightful ambiance for the family.
