EMBRACING MY SHADOW

“Embracing My Shadow” is a fashion design project by Yunmoonmoon Group that explores the intricate themes of identity, self-acceptance, and the unique bond between humans and their pets. Inspired by ancient Greek mythology, the project weaves a narrative around the character of Persephone, the queen of the underworld, who symbolizes the duality of light and dark within oneself.

The story follows Persephone, who, while spending time in the underworld, comes to terms with her shadow self—her fears, hidden desires, and the darker facets of her personality. Through this journey, she learns to embrace these parts, understanding that they are as essential as her lighter, more visible traits. This acceptance is visually represented in the collection through the clever use of shadows and light, creating a striking contrast in the designs.

In addition to exploring personal identity, the project delves into the bond between humans and their pets.
