Sentante - Teleoperated Surgical Robot

Card79 worked with Sentante for its first fully robotic teleoperated system designed for endovascular interventions. Endovascular interventions, the standard for treating heart attacks and strokes, have remained largely unchanged for decades. Doctors traditionally perform these procedures manually, requiring them to be on-site with patients. This method limits the accessibility and efficiency of treatments, particularly in remote areas.



Sentante disrupts this paradigm with a smart, fully-robotic, teleoperated system. By enabling remote procedures, Sentante eliminates X-ray exposure for medical personnel and reduces patient transfers, optimizing hospital workflow and cost efficiency. This innovative system seamlessly integrates with standard endovascular instruments, allowing for precise manipulation of up to three catheters simultaneously.



One of Sentante’s key advantages is its compatibility with the various existing endovascular catheters. Developed in collaboration with doctors, Sentante replicates the familiar haptic feel of manual traditional procedures. Doctors retain the haptic feedback and control they're accustomed to, ensuring they don’t lose any of their tactile connection to the instruments while gaining superior X-ray visualization and new functionalities that enhance procedural outcomes.

This familiar setup allows doctors to perform procedures as usual while gaining the benefits of the submillimeter accuracy achievable with robotics.
