The Halo is a non-invasive neural interface device developed by Prophetic to stabilize & induce naturally occurring lucid dreams to control them. We worked with them to develop their first concept device and create their future vision to facilitate their R&D roadmap. The design is motivated by the aspiration to enable more people to experience and control the power of lucid dreaming.

Lucid dreaming is a state of sleep where a person becomes aware that they are dreaming. The Halo can be a bridge and solution for individuals interested in exploring the boundaries of their consciousness or seeking therapeutic benefits associated with lucid dreaming.

Users benefit from the device's advanced artificial intelligence and neurostimulation technology, which enhances the effectiveness of dream manipulation. With the largest dataset of fMRI images of lucid dreamers, we are able to accurately map the brain patterns during dreaming to manage and induce lucidity during dreams. This prototype is the first product creating the vision for the company as it matures its technology stack and productizes this technology.

Card79 designed the device driven by comfort, function & aesthetics. It has a continuous band with minimal bulk around the back and sides of the head to ensure comfort while sleeping. The industrial design volume allows for the targeted ultrasound transducers to be strategically placed to target essential areas of the brain precisely. Using a cast metal process made parts resemble more a piece of jewelry than a piece of consumer electronics.

The device interfaces with an app that allows users to share their lucid dreams, enabling the active lucid dreaming community to connect and share their experiences.

It sets itself apart from other neural devices by offering a non-invasive approach, advanced artificial intelligence integration, and a unique aesthetic vision that goes beyond the status quo of technology design.
