The project is a renovation of an old house. Over time, the living space has to accommodate more family members. The project's theme is to “create comfortable living” and “preserve family history”. Through participatory spatial exploration and on-site adjustment, the landscape change tells the story of a family's growth. The curatorial approach of the architect to video documentation preserves the reconstruction process in its entirety. The transformation of a courtyard house and a single-family home into a future garden residence perfectly integrates the stories of four generations.
The three buildings are configured on two adjacent urn-shaped plots of land, encompassing a home, a place for sharing and family memories. The green space and the garden allow for proper spacing between the buildings for farming, walking, and enriching the colors of the seasons. This new home is not only a living space but also a container of memories, deeply rooted in the soil of the family's history. Over time, it will continue to witness the family's future and connect memories of the past.
