Lijiang Snow Mountain Art Gallery

Lijiang Snow Mountain Art Gallery is located in the old town of Lijiang, which has the advantages of unique geographical and cultural environment. Located at the foot of Lijiang Yulong Snow Mountain and adjacent to Lijiang Four Seasons Hotel, it is a rare and well-preserved old town of ethnic minorities in China. It concentrates the essence of Naxi culture and retains the historical features formed since the Song and Yuan Dynasties. It is a vital tourism landmark in Yunnan Province and even China. The gallery integrates Lijiang's natural scenery and local culture, and creates a brand new form and concept tourism residential culture for Lijiang.



The project covers an area of 419 mu, including commercial, detached houses, villas, courtyards and other product forms. It will be equipped with Thangka museum, Mu Fu family banquet, library, ecological farm, restaurant, gym, culture and art center, etc.



The spiritual needs of visitors became the key considerations during the design process. They could have a close contact with the nature and immersive experience with the local culture and life. Visitors can also enjoy the landscape of Yulong Snow Mountain, as well as cultural symbols such as Naxi culture, Dongba culture, Dongba pictographs, murals and Naxi cuisine, which are transformed into design language and displayed in the details of the space. The project is composed of three floors. The whole interior space is set with ancient tone, embellished with national characteristics decorations and suspended ceiling in concert with the snow mountain.



In terms of the color palettes, the designer considered the elements of sky, forest, wood, leaf, fog dew, with national characteristics elements involved. In addition, the gallery also sets up traditional Mosuo weaving experience area and Dongba culture experience area, which strongly reflecting the typical local national culture. The designers hope to present a living art space that inherits and expresses Lijiang's local culture and represents the new appearance of Lijiang's tourism residential culture development.
