LuxBlade

This lighting project introduces a unique design concept aimed at transforming how we interact with light. The LuxBlade, a cylindrical lightbulb approximately 30 cm in length, eliminates the need for a traditional screw-in mechanism. It houses advanced internal components like control chips, and battery, surrounded by LED panels, providing an innovative lighting solution for both floor and desktop lamps.
The design’s inspiration is rooted in the idea of making light feel tangible—giving users the ability to “grab” and interact with light as if it were a physical object. The goal is to enhance the user experience by creating a lamp that allows you to hold and move the light with you, evoking a sense of closeness and personalization.
Both the floor and desktop versions feature two touch-sensitive pads, enabling users to adjust the light’s direction with circular motions and change the brightness with vertical swipes. The LuxBlade can also be paired with Apple HomeKit and controlled via a custom app, offering features like voice control and remote adjustments. The floor and desktop versions share the same core functionality, with the only difference being their height.
