Semiconductor Pavilion of the Future

In the 1940s, the word “semiconductor” was merely a materials term for unpredictable circuit switches. Today, semiconductors power almost all electronic devices and their computational capabilities represent an unprecedented leap in human history, accelerated by interdisciplinary collaboration.

The Semiconductor Pavilion of the Future, a collaboration between 23Design, Tronk Interactive, and the National Taiwan Science Education Center, brings to life the fascinating world of semiconductors. This innovative space features four distinct areas: the Exhibition Hall, Materials Room, Manufacturing Zone, and Future Lab.

The exhibition uses a variety of engaging methods—including art installations, interactive games, workshops, and actual semiconductor equipment—to present industry realities. Through displays ranging from photographs to electronic components, visitors get a sense of stepping into a real semiconductor production facility.

To make this complex subject more approachable, the pavilion offers two hands-on workshops where visitors can creatively design their own semiconductor parts and circuits. In addition, three interactive multimedia stations using simple game interfaces give an introduction to semiconductor logic and equipment history, while encouraging visitors to reflect on the future of technology.

Not only does this carefully crafted experience reveal the core principles of semiconductors; it also highlights the importance of innovation and collaboration in technological advancement. It sparks visitors’ imaginations about the potential of semiconductors, and invites them on an exciting journey that combines cutting-edge technology and creativity.
