Smart Manufacturing - Floating House Module with Straw Bale

Environmentally based crisis events are accelerating the need to develop buildings that can provide sustainable, affordable, and high-quality solutions, delivered at speed and scale, without compromising safety and health. Digital technologies supporting the mass-customized design and production of buildings will be needed to address these pressing demands. The project will explore the future of integrated live-work hubs by designing a smart factory for manufactured buildings and an associated mixed-use neighborhood developed through the building methods of the factory. The project will re-imagine manufacturing processes with modular straw bale panel design to provide sustainable, clean, safe, rapidly deployable production, and using advanced technology. The mobile floating factory movable along the coastal line or through inland waterways will allow to deploy the production of affordable high-quality modular housing in areas affected by natural disasters or in such with the potential for building of a floating community.
